This is our most popular workshop. Once again, working with the City of Bisbee and the local shop owners, we have arranged to have the lights to be turned off on one weekend in March and one weekend in April - when the Milky Way is perfectly aligned with the street.

Participants will learn to master Milky Way and Night Photography during our three-day workshop while capturing iconic images of this throwback street.

This workshop also includes a Star Trails shoot and post-processing instruction.

Our Milky Way workshops will not only teach you how to shoot the night sky in all its beauty but how to shoot it in a scenic environment that allows your composition to tell a story.

In our workshops, we will cover

  • Advanced planning to select the best nights to shoot
  • Location and scene selection to create dramatic, stunning, and unique photos
  • Camera settings to ensure your shots turn out beautifully
  • How to use a Star Tracker to achieve better Milky Way and Deep Sky shots
  • Post-processing in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Stacking software to learn stacking and compositing to achieve stellar results.

We will be shooting dramatic sunrises and sunsets. Each night will bring a new adventure and fantastic photos. Expect to capture Old Town Lowell, old west windmills, ranches, barns, and ghost towns from under a brilliant Milky Way arch.

We will photograph iconic Saguaro, Barrel, and Prickly Pear Cactus in perspectives only seen at night. We will also explore an ancient pictograph adorned cave and ridges of an otherworldly golden mountain range.
